Fired Bus Tickets

Buff Clay( Copper Oxide)
2014

These bus tickets have been fired in the kiln with a Copper Oxide on it, and have come out with a nice burned effect to show oldness and damage. In this photo I have placed them in order of days from Monday to Friday, showing how they gradually get worn away. What I like about these is how I have made them look old and warn away starting from Monday to Friday. These are based on my Homage project on my journey to college on the X2 bus.

White Clay( Manganese Oxide)
2014

Using White clay this time I focused on just the words that appear on the bus, and what comes into my head. I then just pushed words on the clay using letter stamps, and adding prices to show my anger towards bus tickets and buses. This time I used a different sort of Oxide, which was Manganese Oxide. This time, because I placed it on white clay the oxide has turned a dark grey, which is effective and contrasts between the other set I have done. During my Making I broke one of my clay tickets, which has turned out quite nicely, because my project is based on my bus tickets which is based on them gradually getting ruined each day.
